Newteam FC faced off against longtime rivals FC Avalon this past weekend in grueling 80-degree weather. Despite dominating possession and keeping the ball moving across the pitch, the boys fell short in front of goal, dropping the match 2β0.
From the opening whistle, Newteam FC controlled the tempo. The midfield dictated play, linking passes and stretching the Avalon defense. For large stretches of the game, possession stayed firmly in our favor, showcasing the teamβs technical ability and tactical discipline.
Unfortunately, soccer isnβt won by possession alone. The few chances FC Avalon managed to create were clinical. They capitalized on two moments of opportunity, punishing mistakes and converting their shots.
Newteam, on the other hand, couldnβt find the back of the net despite generating chances and keeping Avalon pinned back for much of the match.
This result moves Newteam FCβs record to 1β1 in the early stages of the Fall 2025 season. With one win already secured, the squad is determined to bounce back quickly, sharpen finishing in training, and return stronger for the next fixture.
The boys are back in the lab this week, putting in the work to turn possession dominance into goals. Expect focused sessions on finishing, set pieces, and converting pressure into points.
With the season still wide open, Newteam FC is looking to reset, regroup, and chase another statement victory in the next match.
